chicken wire poetry

I recently came across the work of the Italian sculptor,
and INSTANTLY fell in love with her whimsical artwork!
*
Benedetta has the rare talent to create the dreamiest creatures
from a material that I would consider to be quite unpoetic,
namely: CHICKEN WIRE!
Aren't they magical?
*
I love them... Especially the piggies & the clouds in the first picture!
And you? Which one is your favourite?

I never would have thought to use chicken wire as a sculpting medium! I've been dying to sculpt something again, but hate the mess that plaster makes. Maybe I'll give this a go sometime!

So very sweet. They look like ghosts....

Where in Italy are you living? I just returned from a fabulous week holiday in the Liguaria region :-) I hope to post some pictures about my trip on my blog today, now that the jet lag is starting to dissipate!

Just recently found your blog and am now following. You make beautiful things! You have inspired me to order some wooden hoops to get back to hand stitching!
