frost versus frosting...

Now that the weather is turning cold,
I find myself trapped in a never ending spiral of sweet cravings.

As if the frost is a constant referral to frosting...

Which is strange, 

because usually I'm not much of a sweettooth.
Quite the contrary actually...
I would even go as far as to say that most days I don't even like sweets. 

But every year, when it starts to get cold...

I turn into sweetzilla!

And, my dears... guess what?!

It's that time of the year again!

So here I am now, preparing myself elaborate frosted fantasies,

and scavenging the house for anything sweet & sugary to kill the craving...  

And not just àny craving...

This year I'm completely obsessed with Speculaas, 

a traditional belgian and dutch shortcrust biscuit 

with lots of yummy spices like cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, nutmeg and cloves.

Oh, and lots of sugar, of course.

And butter.
