He who plants a tree,
plants a hope.

After reading these inspiring words this morning
I planted a papercut tree on a pretty piece of driftwood...
But one day I would like to plant a real tree.
A birch tree perhaps, or a linden,
so I can make tea from its late spring flowers...

My grandfather always said that everyone should plant
at least one tree during their lifetime, and I guess he was right.
We never really stop to think about it,
but thousands of trees are cut down every day
to make space for our big projects,
and to provide us with things like furniture and paper...

So how about you?
Have you ever planted a tree?
And if you were to do so tomorrow,
which tree would you choose?

Hello Twiggs!
Thanks for stopping by & sharing your green dreams!
I must admit that the idea of a cherry tree doesn't sound bad at all! It must be so wonderful to be able to eat the fruits of a tree that you have planted yourself...

I agree! Planting trees helps us to gauge time.
My father used to plant trees on our farm each time a child in our family was born, from his own kids to his grandkids...and it was so much fun to watch them grow and take photos alongside the kids as they grew too!
Thanks so much for sharing this today...as it has brought back such nice memories of my late father!

Wow Jooles! I simply cannot imagine how exciting it must be to be waiting for the fruit your very own trees will bring! Hopefully there will be lots & lots & lots of it!!
Who know... maybe you'll even have enough to make jam!

& fingers crossed!
Hello Creative Carmelina!
Thank you so very much for sharing this bit of family tradition with us! Planting a tree in honour every new child in the family is a truly beautiful thing to do, and so I will surely tell my brother and his girlfriend, who are expecting a baby, about it!!!
I LOVE your creation and since my little patio is too small for us to plant a tree I shall create a paper tree like yours some day! :D
I love your paper tree !
Maybe I should plant a willow, but it's hard to choose. A linden is a good choice too, I love the perfume of the liden flowers...
Planting a tree is a very nice symbol.
Lovely idea! Me and my sisters planted an acorn from our grandparents' garden when we were younger and now there is a proper little oak tree in my parents' garden! I get a warm fuzzy feeling every time I see it!
Thank you very much Nathalie & L'heure bohème for your kind words!

Isn't it amazing, Domestikate, what can grow from a single acorn?
:o)
How lovely!! I like it. :) I've planted a few trees in real life and the virtual world. Just a week or so ago, I planted one in the vritual world for my father (and other cancer patients) that a cure would be found. A few years back I planted a few (real) pine trees, blue spruce, silver maple and japanese red maple. :)
Your blog is so lovely!Compliments
I'll follow you ;)
Bye
