I like Christmas... I know, so obvious, but there's something in the air, near to Venice, where my grandparents lived, on the mountains... I heart it. People that come at the church on midnight walking from near villages and singing and the smell of the buried wood and lights and white vapour coming out of my month... and woods nearby with ancient animals and memoryes of the past Century...

My favorite holiday is Christmas because it's currently the only time of the year I fly back to my homeland and spend quality time with my family whom I miss very much. That and I get to eat a lot of really tasty food. :)

Oh, that's a wonderful giveaway! It's been a while and since the first time i saw your sashiko pincushions i fell in love with them, so classy and sweet.
Well, even loving Christmas, my favorite holiday is Easter. For us in Brazil it's in the beginning of autumn, my favorite season, and it carries many deep and beautiful meanings. Gives me the sense of a new life coming.
Thanks for the nice giveaway:)

Oh wow, great giveaway! Thank you for doing this.

It's hard for me to pick a single favorite holiday; I love all of the ones in the last quarter of the year. (Halloween, Thanksgiving [I'm in the US], Christmas, and New Year's Eve.) I love the smells and food. A little cheer is definitely needed to help counteract the chill and darkness.

My favourite holidays have always been Christmas.. but everything changed completely last year.

So it´s probably Easter for now :)

I love Thanksgiving and also Independence Day (July 4). We never do anything really unusual on either of those days, it's just a nice reason for our family to all get together and enjoy each others company.

Thank you for the giveaway, I am quite smitten with your sashiko cushions!

Ooh it's hard to pick between Easter and Christmas!

When it's Easter I love running around the garden in the autumn leaves with my younger sisters looking for eggs (and then spending all day eating them!), and when it's Christmas I love to sit under the tree and open presents with my family. And the Christmas lunch is always a highlight too!

Thanks for the great giveaway!

Here in Spain there are a lot of holidays in different places, but there are not many holidays we celebrate in the hole country, only Christmas and Easter, and summer holidays, of course, but this one we do not "celebrate". I like Christmas because we celebrate it with the hole family, even aunts, uncles, cousisns, and I love to sit on a table with all of them and enjoy some time together. But my favourite holiday is the summer.
Thanks for the giveaway, your pincushions are soo nice!

what pretty pincushions! I would have to say my favorite holiday is fall... I remember as a little girl walking to and from school with my sister hand in hand and we loved playing in the leaves!!

Amy said...

Well, this might sound weird, but if I'm honest then my favorite annual celebration is my birthday. It's my favorite because there are no expectations to meet, no particular decorations required, the menu is up to me and no one argues over it.

But if you want to know about a holiday I enjoy that is more recognized, then I choose Christmas, but it comes with a lot of stress too, hence my other choice.

New Year's Day. After the party mess has been cleaned up and you recover from a night of dancing and laughing, there's this moment of silence and preparedness in the early evening that makes you feel like you can conquer the coming year. I love that moment.

then you eat some cabbage for good luck and relax and begin again.

I love Thanksgiving, but it's followed very closely by Christmas because the whole family gets together. Thanks for the giveaway, I love your mosaics and beautiful handmade goodies!

FullertonRegan said...

How sweet are you?? I love Thanksgiving. Here in the US it's very traditional to make a turkey, which I like to do even though it can be quite a pain. I've found my tricks after a few turkeys (brine overnight, then turn the turkey every 45 minutes while cooking), but it just seems kinda silly to work that hard when a steak is so much more delicious and way less hassle. What can I say? Tradition trumps all! :)

Hi, I don´t like christmas. Everybody is in a hurry to find the perfect gift. The only positive thing is, that the whole family comes together from far away. My favorite holiday is easter cause of the spring flowers and bright sunlight :)

Very nice giveaway!

My favourite holiday is Christmas. And if there is snow outside, the effect is complete. We usually gather at my parent's place, unwrapp the gifts, sit around the fireplace and talk, eat wonderful food and cakes and after the lunch we head outside to make the snowman and enjoy the snow. Oh I just love it and enjoy seeing my daughter love it too. Love, Ivana.

I actually love them all but I really enjoy the 4th of July. My brother's home looks right out over the Hudson River and the Statue of Liberty! We can see the NY fireworks there. It's great. And, what's not to love about celebrating the United States!

Thanks for the giveaway - I love your work.
