On Saturday morning F. and I bought our very first REAL Christmas tree.
We didn't get a very big one, but it being our first,
we both agree that he's "Oh So Very Beautiful"...
Now all we need to do is wait for wednesday to come,
so we can get him decorated.
Now I can hear you ask why on earth we have to wait until wednesday...
But the thing is, that being Belgian I have celebrated 'Sinterklaas'
on december 6 for as long as I can remember.
Is always used to LOVE that holiday,
and it's was a really big issue in our family
that the Christmas tree could NOT be set up until AFTER that day.
And I know it might sound a bit silly, but I like to honour that tradition.
Especially since lately time seems to fly faster than ever,
and I feel that holding on to little things like this,
little landmarks and special days
somehow helps to slow things down a bit...
And how about you?
Have you started decorating your home for Christmas?
And are there any special traditions you honour when it comes to decorating?

Being a Belgian as well, I started decorating today. We wait until after Sinterklaas. :) And our first christmas is the prettiest of them all!
In my family we always wait until the 8th as it is my birthday on the 7th!
There has always been a strict no decorations, no Christmas music rule until my special day has been well and truly celebrated... even though I'll be 34 this week!!!
And real trees are an absolute joy - the smell is just lovely - enjoy!
We did not decorate as much this year and we did it early because we are leaving next week to celebrate Christmas in the states!
wonderful choice for the pictures!
I haven't...is just in my mind for now
Hey sister in law!!
Respect, we are doing it the same way like you, except for the moment, there is no place for our christmas tree.
That is all the fault of your nephew and all his toys and belongings! I think that we are going to set the tree in his "park".
Take care and hear you soon!

You are having the wonderful photograph chosen.
We also began to decorate Christmas.
However, a cat interferes.
your photo collections are always so inspiring and lovely to look at. we haven't started our holiday decorating yet... it's been so warm lately that it doesn't feel like christmas yet! maybe tomorrow...
Oh, I am delighted to see how I haven't missed anything and that you have been away from blogging as I have...
We are all about tradition too and because we leave for the UK soon to spend Christmas with the Scandi family(mine) we actually don't get the tree until the morning of Christmas Eve.
I can't wait to see your tree decorated.
HUGE HUGS
